A Fun Birthday Card

Here is the front of the card.

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! I cannot believe that my last blog post was August 2018!! WOW!! I guess life got busy!  I had SO much fun creating this card that I just had to share it with you.

The front of the card was created using a happy birthday die from The Stamps of Life.  You can head on over here and check out the die.  I used Judikins Diamond Glaze on the "happy birthday" to make it pop.  The card stock and gems were from my stash. I did use several layers of card stock on the front of this card and embossed the cream layer. All edges were inked.

This is the inside of the card.
The inside of the this card is where the real fun is! At least that is how I felt while coloring the images. These SUPER cute images are the Limited Edition Toy Box set from Kindred Stamps.  Though this particular set is no longer available, Kindred Stamps have some amazing products. Head on over here to check it all out.  This card is a pop-up. I used the Photo Collage Pop-Up die by Karen Burniston.  You can find this die here.

That's all I have for today! I hope that you are all well and getting in some crafting.  Have a magical day!

Swimming By!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!  I cannot believe that August is almost over! While many are getting ready for Fall, here in the desert we feel like summer is only half over! Kids are back in school and the stores are showing some Fall displays but we are still having hot, summer days!

It has been a fun filled summer! I attended my annual Scrap Camp! This is always such a FUN weekend filled with lots of laughs, crafting and field trips (Can you say......Hobby Lobby!). Each year we have a theme for Camp and this year it was The Dusty Derby (Think Kentucky Derby).  While at camp it was decided that four of us would have a monthly card exchange. Two months in and we are going strong! I have to say it is super fun to receive a handmade card in the mail!   For this month's card I decided to use a die that I have had for awhile but had not used yet.  Here are the four cards that I created.  Each one is slightly different from the other.

Materials used:
cardstock from my stash
Seashell card die from Honey Bee Stamps
"Swimming By" stamp and die set by Honey Bee Stamps
Memento Ink
Embellishments from my stash
Crystal Laquer
Ultra-Fine Glitter

I just love these dies. I think that the Mermaid has such a sweet expression on her face.

This summer was also filled with new adventures.  My family and I headed to Alaska. We had an amazing time. The weather was fabulous and we enjoyed every minute of it! My favorite part was the train ride in Skagway. The scenery was gorgeous and the history of the railroad was very interesting.

This summer I attended my first Origami Owl Jewelry convention. What a fun filled weekend! So much inspiration, laughter and new friendships made. It was unbelievably fun!!

That is the latest from my little corner of the world. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a magical day!!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! So! How many of you tuned in and watched the Royal Wedding today?  I did and enjoyed every moment of it!  What a beautiful bride Meghan Markle was!  I plan to tune in tonight for the recap.

Keeping with the theme of today I thought that I would show you a wedding card that I made recently.

I used all from my stash.  I have not stamped in quite awhile and I was glad to be back at it.   I hope that you have a great day doing something that you love to do! Thanks for stopping by.

It's Raining...............

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! It is raining here in the desert tonight and for whatever reason the rain made me feel like blogging. I am not sure why it did but here I am.

What a first half of 2017 it has been! Life was rolling merrily along until late January when I had the unfortunate experience of pulling a muscle while exercising. I will spare you of all the details but just know that I am on a first name basis at the Physical Therapist office.

In February I experienced Disneyland like I had never experienced it before. Due to my injury I had to rent a scooter. With crutches strapped to the side of the scooter, off I went.  With a lot of help from my teenage daughter and the patience of the rest of our traveling group we had a successful trip!  One can never have a bad time at the Happiest Place On Earth!!   The highlight of the trip was seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade.  Oh! How I have missed having this parade at Disneyland. I am so happy it is back!

From February to May I really learned a lot about myself and the power of setting a goal. Prior to my exercising injury I had signed up to run a 5K in Disneyland in May.  There was no
way I was going to miss this race. Even if I had to crawl the entire thing I was doing it. With a lot of encouragement from my husband, daughter, my running buddy, the PT staff and some very close friends I did that race. The process to get to that day was a painful one but I did it.  I walked and limped the entire thing but I did it.  No scooter, no crutches, no walking stick...I did it. Best accomplishment to date. Crossing that finish line was the best feeling ever. Oh...and here it is July and all is well....not even a limp!! September 10K here I come!

On a crafting note I  have made a few cards over the last few months. I absolutely LOVE the stamps and dies from Stephanie Barnard Stamps of Life!  If you have not tried her products be sure to head on over to her website and check out all of the fun things that she has.

Speaking of crafting. this past June I attended my annual "Scrap Camp". The theme this year was "board games". It was super fun! I look forward to this weekend every year.  It was wonderful to spend a weekend filled with friendship. laughter and crafting.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend doing something that you love.  Thanks for stopping by and have a magical day!

Happy New Year!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! Where has the time gone? My last post was in August! Wow is really all I can say! A lot has been going on in my little corner of the world. In September I had the best time attempting to run my first Disneyland 5K.  It was so much fun that shortly thereafter I joined a running group to learn how to really run!  The goal set was to be able to run a 5K without taking any walk breaks. I am happy to report that I am "running" in the right direction with this goal.

Running (and walking) the 5K in Disneyland was such an amazing experience. I have been to the Park many, many times but I had never seen it from this perspective. If you have never done a race at Disneyland I encourage you to give it a try.

Crafting kind of took a back seat in my life this fall.  Unfortunately, a very special lady in my life, my Grandma, passed away at the age of 93.  She was amazing! If only everyone could be so lucky to have been blessed with such a fabulous Grandmother. She had unwavering faith in God and lived independently until she passed away.  She is greatly missed by all of us.

Though I did not craft much I did make one pop-up box card. If you have read my earlier posts you know that I LOVE this die set from Stamps of Life.  (The set does not include the Mickey dies.)

That is the latest here. I hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and a great start to 2017! Here's to a year filled with Disney magic and lots of crafting!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a magical day!

Here is the second one.  I used the same die but embellished it differently.

The die sets from Stamps of Life make it so easy to make cards!  If you do not have one of Stephanie Barnard's die sets what are you waiting for?? LOL!

I hope that you have a fabulous weekend doing something that you love!! Thanks for stopping by and have a magical day!!

 The details

Card Recipe:

Box Card Die set from Stamps of Life.  Go here to check it out.
Cricut Cartridge (either Mickey and Friends or Mickey Font.....can't remember)
Embossing folder
Cardstock from my stash

I absolutely LOVE all the dies from Stamps of Life.  If you have never heard of Stephanie Barnard you are missing out.  Her products are awesome. I had so much fun making this card! In case you are wondering where you would write your greeting there is plenty of room on the back of the "box" to write whatever you would like.  You could even stamp a greeting on the back if you wanted to.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you have a magical day doing something that you love!

Scrap Camp 2016

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!  I hope that you are having a fun filled summer!  Mine has been filled with fun and is flying by!  I have been busy making priceless memories with friends and family.

Every June brings Scrap Camp.  What is Scrap Camp you ask?  It is a weekend set aside to spend with friends escaping the grind of everyday life.  We spend it laughing, eating, field tripping to nearby stores, visiting and oh, yes, we even craft a little.  Each year brings a different theme.  This year we celebrated Red, White and Blue!

The decorations are amazing!  They are done by one crafty, fellow Disney Chick.....my dear friend Candy!

This was my spot for the weekend.

Here we are....dressed in the theme of the weekend AND sporting some very special eyewear!

That's it for now!  At Scrap Camp I started working on my Disney Cruise album.  So fun to scrap and relive the memories of the trip while I scrap!  I hope that you have a magical day!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Lets Swap!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! How are you?  I feel like it has been forever since I have sat down to write a blog post and visit blogs.  Tonight I decided that I would do both!  Recently I participated in a swap.  The theme was California Adventure attractions.  The requirement was to pick an attraction from California Adventure, create a title and a coordinating die-cut AND make 11 of each. I chose Tower of Terror.  I had seen a cute file on Etsy that I had wanted to try out. I cannot remember where I got my title file from.  Here is what I came up with:

I have to say that the file I purchased on Etsy took me HOURS to use.  It was a large file and did not play nice in Design Space.  The Provo Craft Support was AWESOME in helping me with this file and explaining to me all that I needed to do to have it work out.  In the end I am happy with it.  This image had oodles of pieces! Due to the complexity of this die-cut I decided to keep my title simple.  A gal only has so much patience for this sort of thing. LOL!  I am very excited about this swap.  In return I will receive 11 titles and coordinating die-cuts back (one of which will be my own). These should arrive to me in the next few weeks.  I will be sure to share with you all what I receive.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope that you have a magical day!!
