Spotlight Saturday and Feeling Nerdy!

Happy Saturday Disney and Crafty Friends!! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend. I just finished up celebrating my birthday last night with my scrapping buddies.  My actual date was earlier in the month but I stretched the celebration out for a few weeks!! LOL  I am someone who loves her birthday!  I also enjoy celebrating others birthdays.  For those of you that do not enjoy their birthday I make up for you! LOL  Here is a super cute, Nerd Mickey Mouse themed bag that my super, talented fellow Disney Chick made for me:

Hand made by Candy McShea, fellow Disney Chick!

See the little Nerd Mickey ornament hanging from the bag?  That is what my fellow Disney Chick used for her inspiration in painting this gift bag.  The bag also has a matching tag which I will post at a later date.  I received my own pair of over sized glasses.  Too Fun!!  I love the Disney Nerd line of merchandise :-)!!

On to "Spotlight Saturday".  I would love for you to hop on over to two crafty blogs.  The first one is Crafty Kards.  A BIG thanks to Crafty Kards for putting my blinkie on her blog :-).  Be sure to check out the variety of cards that she has posted.  The second blog is Crafting With Creative M.  She recently posted a super cute shaker card that she is contributing to the I Feel The Love Project.  Both are great blogs and I hope that you check them out.

That's it for today! Tomorrow there will be a new challenge over at Scrapbook Blessings Club so be sure to check back.  Have a magical day!!

Birthday Party Fun!

Hello Everyone!  As many of you know during the last few months I was very busy working on an album for a friend's special birthday.  A week ago I finally got to spill the beans, give her the album & share the secret project that I had been working on.  I thought that I would share with you a few pictures from the album and the party. The party's theme was "Candy Store".  It was such a fun theme (even more so as my fellow Disney Chick's name is Candy).

The album is 8 x 8.  As far as embellishments go, I kept it more on the simple side.  I picked my favorite photos & memories of our friendship.  I printed many of the photos at either 8 x 8 or 5 x 7.  I kept the album's main focus on the photos and journaling. My Cricut was used to cut out the titles.

We travel to Disneyland often together.  This page was dedicated to our first trip as the "Disney Chicks".  I cannot believe how young our kids look!  I guess they really are growing up.

This is my FAVORITE layout of the entire album.  Both of us Disney Chicks LOVE Christmas & Disneyland.  The two combined is double the magic!

My daughter, who adores Miss Candy, drew this Mickey Mouse for the album.  I laminated it and put it on the inside of the back cover.  I thought that it was a fun way to end the album.

Now on to the party.  Here is what the table looked like before guests arrived.  Down the middle of the table was a wide variety of candy.

Here is a close up of the sign that was on the table.  The "Candy Store" sign was made using the Cricut cartidge Sweet Shop.

Here is the card that I made for the birthday girl.  I used the Cricut cartridge Sweet Shop.

I hope that everyone is doing well! For those that were in the path of the hurricane my thoughts & prayers go out to each one of you.  Thanks so much for stopping by Disney Girl!

Wordless Wednesday & I'm Back!

Mickey in his Hawaiian wear!

Hello Everyone!  My blog has been SO quiet this past week and a half.  Has any one wondered where I have been?  Well, I have been SUPER busy trying to finish up an album that I have been working on for the last few months.  The album is finished and the recipient is my fellow Disney Chick (pictured at left).  The album was a gift for her birthday and it was full of photos & memories of our friendship.  It was so hard to be working on a album for someone that I talk to (ok, text) several times a week and see often.  I am SO glad the secret is out and she now has the album.

I am a bit late posting for Wordless Wednesday (as today is Saturday) but I HAD to post as we all know that it is my favorite time of the week.  This weeks theme is:

Disney Attire/Costuming!

This weeks theme instantly made me think of how from the first trip the "Disney Chicks" ever took together the clothing was a big part of it.  Prior to any trip, the "Chicks" go over the color/shirt list so that we all match (for you scrapbookers out there the pictures are better if you all match).   On our trips we all wear matching shirts (or at the very least the same color) every day except one.  I call this day the "free day".

Not a "free" day.

I am including this next photo because I love how Mary Poppins and Bert are dressed!  If I had to pick a Disney character whose outfit I love the most it would be the two of them!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend.  A big thanks to Deb over at Focused On The Magic for hosting Wordless Wednesday!! Thanks so much for stopping by & have a magical day!

This post is linked up over at Super Sunday Sync #7 blog hop over at Dawns Disaster. Head on over there & link up.  It is a hop that you don't want to miss.

Disney Friends

This week at Focused On The Magic the Wordless Wednesday Theme is"

Disney Friends!

That being said I dedicate this post to all the friends and family who have "done" Disneyland with me the way that I like to experience Disneyland.  You all know who you are.  I also dedicate it to all the Disneyland Characters who have helped make EVERY trip magical!

Pluto was very happy to see my mother sometime in the 1980's.

Donald was quite shy in the 1980's (or maybe it was the early 90's).

The tradition started in approximately 2003.  Two friends who share a love for Disney packed up the kids and headed to Disneyland for a weekend in the park.  We call ourselves "The Disney Chicks".  The tradition continues and the husbands are still glad to be left at home while the "Chicks" are at The Happiest Place On Earth!

One of my all time favorite photos!!

I had to include a Disney Villain!
That's all I have for Wordless Wednesday!  As you can tell I had a lot of trouble picking one or even two photos to share with you.  I hope that you all have a magical, Disney kind of day!
