Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!  I hope that you are having a great week!  I am so glad that the weekend is fast approaching!

Today I am over at Scrapbook Blessings Club with a card that I made using the Triple Circle Flip-It die by Sizzix.  To see an awesome video tutorial on the die set head on over here to Stamps of Life and watch Stephanie Barnard show you how it's done.

 Here is my card closed

Now "flip-it" open!

Recipe:

  • Cardstock, patterned paper and gems from my stash
  • Sentiment stamps by Close To My Heart
  • Flip-It Die from Stamps of Life (By Sizzix)
I am just loving the Sizzix Big Shot that I received for Christmas.  The magnetic plate makes using these dies so much easier!!  I hope that you have a magical day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Something New!

Hello Disney and Crafty friends!  Well....where in the world did the month of July go?  It flew by!  Or maybe I should say that it "sailed" by as I was lucky enough to be cruising with Disney on the ship The Fantasy!!  What a dream vacation it was!  I plan to share more about it in a future post.

What is new is on the crafting front.  Close To My Heart released the Cricut cartridge, Artistry!

I am super excited about this and cannot wait to get mine!  Interested in getting one for yourself?  Head on over here to do so.  Also available is the August stamp of the month.  This is a great set and one not to miss out on.

I hope that you had a fantastic month!  As I go into August I am looking forward to crafting more.  I can't wait to start scrapbooking my recent cruise!  It was truly a trip of a lifetime and amazing memories were made!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a magical day!!

Happy Sunday!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!! Where has the month of April gone?  I cannot believe that the last week of the month is here!  It has been a busy month!  We had out of town company earlier this month.  Such a great visit!  Friends from NY, FL, and family from CA.  My hubby and I hosted Easter dinner for family and friends.  My daughter made this for dessert:

Cupcakes loaded with toppings!  It made for a pretty centerpiece on the dessert table.

Our desert tortoises are out of hibernation.  Here is one of them:

I have been participating in several Cricut cut swaps.  Some of you may be asking what a swap is.  Well, how a swap usually works is a group decides on a theme, number of participants and what is to be exchanged.  Everyone participating sends their assigned cut to the coordinator of the swap and he or she sends everyone a variety of cuts back to each participant.  So if ten people participate you will end up with 10 different cuts (one of which is your own). It is a great way to get a variety of different cuts. In the swaps that I have recently participated in they have been Disney themed Cricut cuts.  For the first one I was assigned the "mystery" cut.  I LOVE doing the mystery cut.  I decided to make Mickey's pants, glove and small title.  You can see all three below.

This next photo is not the best.  It is a work in progress. I was busy getting my "lounge chairs" ready to mail out to the swap coordinator.  Usually the coordinator asks that we put each cut in an individual bag with our name on it.  I like to make little labels with a message to put on my swap baggies.  I also put one of my blog cards in with it.  The "lounge chair" is for a Disney Cruise swap that I am in.  These chairs took HOURS of my time. LOL  Hours because I was trying to "slice" in Design Space when I should of "attached".  A call to Provo Craft solved my problem.  I wished I would of placed that call sooner. LOL!!

 .

April is Deal of the Day month at Close To My Heart.  There are still a few days left this month for you to take advantage of the special. Head on over here to read all about it.

I took advantage of one of the higher priced deals and here is my box of goodies:

There are a lot more goodies underneath that first layer.

So there you have it......my month of April.  At the moment I am working on another "mystery" cut for another Disney Themed swap.  This one will be all "Toy Story" cuts.  I cannot wait to see what everyone makes.  Once my cut is complete I will share with you what I did.

I hope that you have had a great month!! Don't forget that you still have this week to participate in the monthly challenge over at Scrapbook Blessings Club.  Head on over here to do so.  I would love to see what you create!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a magical day!

Let's Hop!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! Today is all about hopping.....a blog hop that is. As a Design Team member over at Scrapbook Blessings Club I thought that I would join in on a hop that they are part of.  The hop is "Create A Card Blog Hop".  I recently found a "new" favorite card to make. It is called a pop-up diorama.  I got my directions from Julie Davison on SplitCoast Stampers.  Head on over here to read all about how to create a pop-up diorama card.  It is much easier than it looks!

This is the card that you saw over at Scrapbook Blessings Club and it was my first attempt.
 Inside

This is my second card that I made using this technique.

Inside.....I left the message area blank.  I am not sure what I will put in this one.....maybe an image instead of a greeting.

This is my favorite!  It is the size of a gift enclosure card.  I just thought at a smaller size this card was extra fun!!  Plus out of an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of card stock you can make the above card and this one out of the one piece of card stock!

 Inside

Recipe:

  • Easter Wishes stamp set by Close To My Heart
  • Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge by Close To My Heart
  • Paper, stickers and ribbon from my stash
  • Stickles
  • Liquid Glass by Close To My Heart
  • Embossing Folders
  • Kaleidacolor Birthstone ink pad
  • Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze ink pad
  • Impress Pansy ink pad
  • Punches (circle and flower)
  • Chalk Ink
For these cards I really felt like I was "shopping" in my craft room!  I used a stamp set (Easter Wishes) and an embossing folder that I had never used before. SO fun!!  Also, I just love that the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge coordinates with the Easter Wishes stamp set.  I cut the eggs out on the Cricut and then stamped them.  I also used some ink pads that haven't been out in years! I used them on the eggs.

Thank you so much for stopping by and hopping along.  Should you get lost during the hop just head on over to the Scrapbook Blessings Club and the line up of blogs is listed.  Have a magical day!

Lets Get Hopping!

Thank you for joining us on My Cricut Craft Room's Blog Hop!
A big thanks to My Cricut Craft Room for hosting this awesome hop and including me in it.

I am so excited to share with you my Mickey's Pants Mini Album!  Not only is this project Disney related (my favorite type to do) but I got to create it using my brand new Cricut Explore.  I had the BEST time playing with my new toy.  I must admit that I was unsure of whether or not to use my tried and true Cricut Expression to make this project and save the Explore for another day.  Though I have had the Explore for several weeks I had not had a chance to try it out.  Well, after much thought and many You Tube videos later I decided to go for it.......use the Explore.  Boy, am I glad that I did.  It was so much fun to use Design Space and the Explore cut like no other machine I have ever had.  I was very pleased with my end result.

My album closed (front cover).

My album opened. The inside and outside of the back cover are both finished like this.

Recipe:

Card stock from Close To My Heart
Chipboard from my stash
Crop-A-Dile
Stickles
Ribbon from my stash
Tombo Mono Multi Liquid Glue
ColorBox warm red chalk ink
Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge used in Design Space
Brand new Cricut Explore! Woo-Hoo!!
To cut out this album I set the height setting to 5 inches in Design Space.

I started with card stock and chipboard and ended up with Mickey's Pants Album.  The front and back covers are card stock layered onto the chipboard for strength.  The inside pages are card stock. I decided to leave all the inside pages blank.  I am unsure if this will be an autograph book, mini photo album or a Disney trip journal. Down the road I may add stickers, die cuts or photo mats to it.  The possibilities are endless.

The next stop on the hop is: Craft Lovers Come Here.

If you happen to get lost along the way here is the hop lineup.  You can head right back to My Cricut Craft Room and start there.

1. Start- My Cricut Craft Room
2.  Rebecca- Mommiedom
3.  Pam P.S. I Love You Scrapbooking
4.  Lynn  - My Cards N Stuff
5.  Sonja-Sugar Bean Cards

7. NEXT UP IS: Craft Lovers Come Here- Craft Lovers Come Here

A Pinocchio Party!

When my daughter stated that she wanted a Pinocchio themed birthday party I was a bit stumped on what to do for decorations.  Then I remembered that the Cricut cartridge, Disney Classics, has some great Pinocchio cuts on it.  Here is what I came up with:
Recipe:
  • Cricut cartridge, Disney Classics, page 51
  •  Image cut at 5 1/2 inches
  •  All card stock from my stash
  • Stickles
Next up is Pinocchio himself:

Recipe:
  • Cricut cartidge, Disney Classics, page 52
  • Image cut at 8 inches
  • All card stock from my stash.  Pinocchio's face was cut using Bo Bunny paper, Chiffon Dot.  Awesome color for faces!!
  • Skickles
  • Black Sakura Gelly Roll pen
  • Pinocchio's nose was slightly inked with Chestnut Roan chalk ink by ColorBox

This next one is my favorite.

This is my favorite for several reasons.  First off I think that Jiminy Cricket is too cute!!  Secondly it was SUPER easy to find the colors to cut him out with.  This does not often happen when cutting Disney images.  All colors are from the Close To My Heart Cardstock combo pack, Adventure (item X5935).  I also have to add that this paper cut like a dream on my Cricut Expression!!

Recipe:
  • Cricut cartridge, Disney Classics, page 55
  • Image cut at 11 inches
  • ALL card stock (except the white and black) are from Close To My Heart combo pack, Adventure. (To check out this awesome card stock head on over here.)
  • Stickles
  • Black and white Sakrua Gelly Roll pens

What is a birthday party without a cake?  Here is what I came up with:

I was thrilled with how the cake turned out!  The bakery did an awesome job putting the photo on the cake!!  So there you have it a Pinocchio themed birthday party!!  Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope that you have a magical, Disney kind of day!!

Just A Reminder

Just a quick reminder that May is almost over.  When it is the Close To My Heart paper pack "Free To Be Me" will no longer be available at the great price of $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase.  Also, the Close To My Heart May Stamp of the Month (You've Got A Friend) will no longer be available.  This awesome stamp set is available only this month (May).  It is $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase.  The BEST part of these two specials is that they are both available with your $50.00 purchase......you do not have to have two separate purchases of $50.00 to cash in on these deals.  Woo-Hoo!! How cool is that?  You spend $50.00 and can add on both specials for $5.00 each.  Here is what they look like:

Here is what the "Free To Be Me" paper pack looks like.  It is SO much prettier in person!!

This is the May Stamp of the Month
"You've Got A Friend"

For $5.00 each this is a fantastic deal! Both would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas (Yes, Christmas...it is never to early to start shopping) gift for the crafty friend or relative in your life.  To order head on over here and be sure to join my June 9 gathering.  If you are wondering HOW you will get your product if I live in one state and you live in another wonder no more!  Close To My Heart will ship your product directly to your home!! Super easy!! If you have any questions feel free to contact me through this blog or e-mail.
