Challenge Time!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!  Happy Easter!! Today we have a new challenge starting over at Scrapbook Blessings Club.  It is Anything Goes with the Design Team spotlighting a "Color Challenge". The colors to use are pink, green and white. Head on over here to see what the other Design Team members did.  I decided to make another Pop-Up Diorama card.  To see my original post, that includes the link for instructions, for this card head on over here.

Recipe:
  •  Sentiment by My Pink Stamper (set "Buggy Punnies")
  • Butterfly stamp by Close To My Heart (set "A Flitter" item A1108 -- retired)
  • Embossing Folder
  • Circle Punch
  • Liquid Glass by Close To My Heart
  • Ultra-fine glitter
  • Card stock from my stash
  • My butterflies have Liquid Glass and glitter on them  Unfortunately it does not show in the photo.
Once again, I left the inside blank (though I did emboss behind the open circle).  When making cards for my go-to card file, I like to leave the sentiment blank.  At this point I am unsure what occasion this card will be used for and who will be the recipient. Wondering what my "go-to" card file is?? It is where I keep cards that I make up ahead of time with no occasion or recipient in mind.  I like to keep these on hand for the unexpected need for a card.

I hope that you will join us over at Scrapbook Blessings Club for this month's challenge.  Head on over here to join in.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a magical day!

Scrapbooking Disney!

Don't faint everyone!  I am actually posting a scrapbook layout :-) I have been working on this Disneyland/California Adventure album FOREVER!  It is SO close to completion yet SO far from it. LOL  I know that some of you out there can relate to me on this.  Don't get me wrong I love to scrapbook but every album reaches a point with me that I just want to get it finished.  That is about where I am with this one.  To spice it up I decided to use my Cricut on this layout.  It was just the thing I needed to do to spark some excitement in me to continue on with this album.  Donald's boat and his anchors on the "right page" were made using Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge.  I LOVE how it turned out (If I do say so myself. LOL)  The card stock used to create the boat was from Close To My Heart and NO other card stock cuts as wonderful as this does. The rest of the paper and embellishments were from my stash.

Here they are side by side all ready to go into my album.
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you have a MAGICAL DAY!!

Five Things I Couldn't Craft Without!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! A happy Friday to you!  Today I am kicking my weekend off in a hopping way!  A few of us thought that it would be fun to do a hop showing you what crafting items we can't craft without.  Here is the hop lineup:

Dedra at dedras-crafts-for-a-cure
Ivy at Craft Addict Studio
Eileen at Paper Canvas Creations
Debra at DAV Designs
Here is where you are at:  Brenda at Disney Girl
Kim at Kim B Papercrafts

If you get lost along the way just head back here and start hopping again.  All of us would love for you to leave a comment on what items you can't craft without.  For those leaving comments on my blog I will draw a random blog candy winner on Monday, August 11, 2014.  The name that I draw will have until 7:00 pm EST Wednesday August 13, 2014 to contact me with their name and address. If I do not hear from the winner by Wednesday I will draw another name.  Okay, now on to my Five Things That I Couldn't Craft Without!

First Up.......hands down it is my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol!  I love my pencils and always have.  Gamsol is a fairly new addition to my crafting must haves.  I have been using it for about a year.

Second - My Cricut!  I LOVE my Cricut!  I have yet to branch out to the Explore.  For now I am very happy with what I have and feel no need to upgrade.

Third - I have some "go-to" Cricut cartridges.  Whenever I am at a loss for an image or tag I head to these cartridges. They are the CTMH cartridge, Art Philosophy and Disney Mickey Font.  Both are my absolute favorites!  If you have never played with the CTMH cartridges you are missing out.  They are jam packed with tons of good stuff!!  Being I am the "Disney Girl" says it all why the Mickey Font is a favorite of mine.

Fourth - Adhesive!!! Gotta have it!! I LOVE Score-Pal tape for a strong hold!

Fifth - My tired, worn out, blue foam stamping mat.  I purchased this YEARS ago when I first started stamping.  I would be lost without it.  I use it all the time!

Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth (I couldn't limit myself to top 5) - Journey Glaze.....Love this stuff!! Be sure to check my sidebar for all of the projects that I have used it on.  You can take a look at the product here. Also LOVE Stickles and any BLING!  Every project needs some glitz to it!!!

I do have a ninth item and it is my label maker.  Without it I would not be able to organize all of my supplies!!! LOL  I do love to organize.

So there you have it! I had a bit of trouble narrowing it down.  As a brand new CTMH consultant I am sure in a few months I will have different "go-to" items.  At the moment I am getting ready to play with some of the items that I recently ordered from the new Idea Book.  One of these items being the CTMH ShinHan Touch Twin Markers.  To check them out head on over here.  I cannot wait to give these a try!! Will they bump my Prismacolor Pencils off my Top Five list??? LOL  I will let you know.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping with us!! I hope that you have a magical day doing something that you love doing!

Feel free to contact me with any questions that you have regarding Close To My Heart or any of the above mentioned products.

Just A Reminder

Just a quick reminder that May is almost over.  When it is the Close To My Heart paper pack "Free To Be Me" will no longer be available at the great price of $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase.  Also, the Close To My Heart May Stamp of the Month (You've Got A Friend) will no longer be available.  This awesome stamp set is available only this month (May).  It is $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase.  The BEST part of these two specials is that they are both available with your $50.00 purchase......you do not have to have two separate purchases of $50.00 to cash in on these deals.  Woo-Hoo!! How cool is that?  You spend $50.00 and can add on both specials for $5.00 each.  Here is what they look like:

Here is what the "Free To Be Me" paper pack looks like.  It is SO much prettier in person!!

This is the May Stamp of the Month
"You've Got A Friend"

For $5.00 each this is a fantastic deal! Both would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas (Yes, Christmas...it is never to early to start shopping) gift for the crafty friend or relative in your life.  To order head on over here and be sure to join my June 9 gathering.  If you are wondering HOW you will get your product if I live in one state and you live in another wonder no more!  Close To My Heart will ship your product directly to your home!! Super easy!! If you have any questions feel free to contact me through this blog or e-mail.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I appreciate your visits! Have a magical day!!

Scrapbook Blessings Club May Card Kits Are Here!

I am so excited to share with you the Scrapbook Blessings Club May card kit!  This is such a fun kit to work with! It has endless possibilities. To see what is included in the kit head on over here.  I had a great time using the kit to make the following cards:

Recipe:
  •  All card stock is from the SBC May card kit
  • Cityscape Nightline die by Memory Box
  • Cloud embossing folder by Cuttlebug (The Skyward set)
  • Cloud stamp by DOTS (now CTMH)
  • Tuxedo Black ink by Memento Ink
  • Indigo Blue ink by Impress
  • Pink by Colorbox (included in the May kit)
  • "Flying By" stamp by Lawn Fawn (included in the May kit)
  • Stardust Stickles (included in the May kit)
  • Pop Dots
  • Journey Glaze
I lightly distressed the embossed clouds.  I applied Journey Glaze in the windows of my Cityscape and also around my large cloud.  Card measures 5x5.

I do not usually follow a sketch to make my cards.  I am not sure why...but I just never have.  That being said this time I did.  I decided to give it a try and I really enjoyed it.  Using the sketch helped the process go faster.  I did not realize how much time I spend thinking of the design of a card.  LOL  The following cards are from the same sketch.

 Recipe:

EVERYTHING (except for the Bakers Twine and Chestnut Roan ink by Colorbox) used to make this card is from the May Kit.   "Everything" is:
  • Card stock
  • Sequins
  • Ribbon
  • Embellishment
  • Pink ink by Colorbox
 This card measures 6x6.

Recipe:

  • All card stock is from the SBC May card kit
  • Chestnut Roan ink by Colorbox
  • Pink ink by Colorbox (included in the May kit)
  • Flower embellishment (included in the May Kit)
  • Stardust Stickles (included in the May kit)
  • Bling is from my stash
  • Flower punch by EK Success
  • Ribbon (included in the May kit)
This card measures 6x6.

I do have a quick tip to share with you......To give patterned paper or card stock some sparkle just add Stickles to it. I did this to the above card.

So there you have it!  I still have plenty left in my SBC May card kit to make more cards!! Be sure to check out the SBC blog here and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with their kits (All are shown on the video).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a magical day!!!

Something Crafty from Close To My Heart

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!  I know that I am jumping ahead a bit but my weekend officially started today!

I wanted to share with you a cute box & treat bag that I made at my monthly scrap club.  This club is hosted by Susan, a Close To My Heart Consultant.  This month we had a special guest with us. She is also a CTMH consultant. It was a fun afternoon trying out some products from the new catalog.  The new Cricut Cartridge, Artiste, is a MUST have.  It is on my wish list.  These two things were made using the Artiste cartridge.

This beautiful treat bag was taught by Susan.

Our guest consultant showed us how to make this box.  The lid (Friends) fits over the bottom perfectly!

Both of the above were super easy & fun to make!  They were so easy because the Cricut cartridge did all of the work for me.  Now for you Disney fans out there just picture how cute these would be made out of some Mickey or Minnie themed paper.  Endless possibilities!  I hope you all have a safe & happy holiday weekend.  Make it a magical one!
