Happy New Year!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! Where has the time gone? My last post was in August! Wow is really all I can say! A lot has been going on in my little corner of the world. In September I had the best time attempting to run my first Disneyland 5K.  It was so much fun that shortly thereafter I joined a running group to learn how to really run!  The goal set was to be able to run a 5K without taking any walk breaks. I am happy to report that I am "running" in the right direction with this goal.

Running (and walking) the 5K in Disneyland was such an amazing experience. I have been to the Park many, many times but I had never seen it from this perspective. If you have never done a race at Disneyland I encourage you to give it a try.

Crafting kind of took a back seat in my life this fall.  Unfortunately, a very special lady in my life, my Grandma, passed away at the age of 93.  She was amazing! If only everyone could be so lucky to have been blessed with such a fabulous Grandmother. She had unwavering faith in God and lived independently until she passed away.  She is greatly missed by all of us.

Though I did not craft much I did make one pop-up box card. If you have read my earlier posts you know that I LOVE this die set from Stamps of Life.  (The set does not include the Mickey dies.)

That is the latest here. I hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and a great start to 2017! Here's to a year filled with Disney magic and lots of crafting!! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a magical day!

Pop-Up Box Card Fun!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!  I had so much fun making this pop-up box card that I had to share it with you!

Here it is closed

 "Popped-Up"

 The details

Card Recipe:

Box Card Die set from Stamps of Life.  Go here to check it out.
Cricut Cartridge (either Mickey and Friends or Mickey Font.....can't remember)
Embossing folder
Cardstock from my stash

I absolutely LOVE all the dies from Stamps of Life.  If you have never heard of Stephanie Barnard you are missing out.  Her products are awesome. I had so much fun making this card! In case you are wondering where you would write your greeting there is plenty of room on the back of the "box" to write whatever you would like.  You could even stamp a greeting on the back if you wanted to.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you have a magical day doing something that you love!

Challenge #19...Anything Goes...Pop-Up Box Card

Who is ready for a challenge?  It is time for challenge #19 over at Scrapbook Blessings Club.  Anything goes for the challenge!  How easy is that?  The Design Team has some awesome "Pop-Up Box Cards" to show you and a great "how-to" video.  These are so fun to make!  Our wonderful sponsor for the challenge is DRS Designs.  To check out their stamps head on over here.

Before I show you my card I do have a tip to share with you. Sometimes Stickles or other liquid embellishments will smear your inked image. If you do not have time to test it out...just run the liquid embellishment right under your stamped line.  In most cases you will get the same effect without going over the inked outline.

Recipe:

  • Rubber stamps:  Marty The Marshmallow  and Cocoa and the Marshmallows by DRS Designs. The marshmallows were stamped on colored card stock and then cut out.  I used my clear Wink of Stella brush to add a bit of glitter to them.
  • The cups of cocoa were colored using my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I used the clear Wink of Stella brush and also Stickles on the cups.
  • All patterned paper is from Close To My Heart
  • The phrase "A cup of cheer" was cut at 2 1/4 inches using the Cricut Cartridge Winter Frolic (page 59).  I used Glossy Accents and extra fine  glitter on the phrase.  I also put a little heart sticker on the cup.
  • Glue dots, acetate and adhesive.

Again, I would like to thank DRS Designs for sponsoring this challenge.  These stamps were awesome to work with!  I just love the faces on the marshmallows!!  I hope that you will join in on the challenge.  Remember, anything goes although I would love it if you tried to make a pop-up box card.  They are just too fun!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you have a magical day!

Anything Goes!

Hello Friends!  Today we kick off a new challenge over at the Scrapbook Blessings Club!  The design team has been busy creating some wonderful things to show you.  Our sponsor for this challenge is A Day For Daisies. This challenge (*#16) is "Anything Goes" from SBC January - March Challenges.    I decided to use "Funky, Fancy and Fabulous Card Folds" along with what I learned from the Valentine Pop Up Box tutorial.  I have been wanting to try the "pop up box" and finally got to.  What a FUN card this is! I had a blast creating it.

Before I show it to you....I have a tip to share and it is the one thing that I ALWAYS forget to do myself.  When you are creating a card I think it is best to pick your card stock and patterned paper first!  I did not do this when I made this card.  I had done A LOT of coloring and then I was digging around for paper to match.  My card would of went faster if I had picked the paper color first and then colored my image to match.  Next time I hope that I remember to do so. LOL

Here it is folded:

AND here it is open!

I just loved making this card!  The digi from A Day For Daisies was awesome to work with!! I used one image and just colored each one differently. So fun!

Here's the recipe:

  • Cupcake digital image from A Day For Daisies
  • Patterned paper, card stock, and daisy cutout from my stash
  • I colored the cupcakes with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol
  • I decorated the cupcakes with various Stickles and Journey Glaze
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that you hop around and see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  Don't forget to join in on the challenge. I look forward to seeing what you have created!  Have a magical day!!

*Challenge #16 ends Saturday April 5, 10 pm EST.  Please note that this challenge is running for one week.
