Wordless Wednesday!

It's time for another Wordless Wednesday!  This weeks theme is:

Transportation

A big thanks to Deb over at Focused On The Magic for hosting this fun weekly link up!!

Most of you probably know what attraction this is.  If you do not know this is the Skyway!  One of my favorite rides.  This pic is of my brother.  (Please note how my mother always pinned our ticket to our shirt.)

While going thru old photos I also found this one.  It is quite possible that it was taken on the same day as the above one of my brother.  This had to be our view from the Skyway.  For some fun pics of this attraction head on over to Yesterland.

One more pic..........................................

My Dad & Mom

Since the theme is "transportation" I had to include this shot of my wonderful parents on the train.  My love of Disney started because they loved it so much and made each trip there magical!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you have a delightful, Disney kind of day!!!!

My Favorite Mouseketeer

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to share with you a recent article that was in the Los Angeles Magazine. In a nutshell, Anaheim Artist, Kevin Kidney, has just released a collection of merchandise to benefit Annette's foundation for Multiple Sclerosis research.  Be sure to check out all of the great stuff at Zazzle.  Kevin Kidney is an amazing artist and this merchandise is a MUST!  I cannot wait to place my order!!

Just in case anyone is wondering where I came up with this photograph of Annette it was in my mother-in-law's personal collection.  I have to add that this personal collection has been given to me.  (Thanks again mother-in-law!) Do you see the signature?  Annette signed it for my mother-in-law many years ago.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope that you have a magical weekend!!

If you get a chance stop Kevin Kidney's blog and check it out.

My Favorite Time! Wordless Wednesday!

It is that wonderful time of the week again.  It is Wordless Wednesday.  This week the theme is:

THE LETTER "E"!!

Here is what I came up with:

Enchanted Tiki Room

Entertainment at the Golden Horseshoe! (Taken during one of my earlier visits to the Park)

I remember it like it was yesterday when this was the entertainment at the Golden Horseshoe.  Betty Taylor's character, Slue Foot Sue, wore a beautiful long black velvet dress. She would always look around for a bald man in the audience to cozy up to and make jokes with. My dad, being somewhat balding, was always a bit nervous that it just might be his turn to be part of the act.  This was always such a great show!

I found this great article online about the Golden Horseshoe.  The photo of Slue Foot Sue is exactly how I remember her.  She is looking for her bald man in this picture.  Here is the link JHM (Golden Horseshoe).

A BIG thanks to Deb at Focused On The Magic for hosting such a fun hop and allowing all of us Disney fans to relive our memories and share them with each other every week!  I just love seeing all of the pictures that everyone shares.

I hope that you are having a fabulous week!  Soon I will be heading off to the Happiest Place On Earth and eating a cookie (or two) while I am there!  I will have some great pics for next week's Wordless Wednesday! Have a magical day everyone and thanks so much for stopping by!

Disney Friends

This week at Focused On The Magic the Wordless Wednesday Theme is"

Disney Friends!

That being said I dedicate this post to all the friends and family who have "done" Disneyland with me the way that I like to experience Disneyland.  You all know who you are.  I also dedicate it to all the Disneyland Characters who have helped make EVERY trip magical!

Pluto was very happy to see my mother sometime in the 1980's.

Donald was quite shy in the 1980's (or maybe it was the early 90's).

The tradition started in approximately 2003.  Two friends who share a love for Disney packed up the kids and headed to Disneyland for a weekend in the park.  We call ourselves "The Disney Chicks".  The tradition continues and the husbands are still glad to be left at home while the "Chicks" are at The Happiest Place On Earth!

One of my all time favorite photos!!

I had to include a Disney Villain!
That's all I have for Wordless Wednesday!  As you can tell I had a lot of trouble picking one or even two photos to share with you.  I hope that you all have a magical, Disney kind of day!

The post is suppose to be "Wordless" but I just want to add  that these pictures were taken on a family trip to Disneyland during the 35th anniversary year and I just love them!! I encourage any Disney fan to head on over to Focused On The Magic and check out her awesome blog and all the blogs that have linked up to "Wordless Wednesday".  Have a Magical evening everyone!

Celebrating Opening Day At Disneyland

Today is the anniversary of opening day at Disneyland!  It was on July 17, 1955 that the Happiest Place On Earth opened!  Oh, how I would have loved to have been there on opening day!  Since I wasn't even born yet that would have been impossible.  Fortunately for me at the time my mother-in-law lived in Whittier, CA. (Which is very close to Disneyland.)  She was not there on opening day but frequented the park many times afterwards. I am fortunate to have several photos from her private collection.  Many of her photos include the Mouseketeers.  I will only share a few today and save the rest for another time.

Main Street

1956 and YES that is Annette!!
Mouseketeers Sharon & Bobby

The Mouseketeers having fun
Aren't these photographs so fun to see?  I just love them and feel so lucky that my mother-in-law has passed them on to me.  Thank you Diane!!

I would love to hear your favorite Disney memory.  Just leave it in the comment box below.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope whatever you do this evening has a little magic in it!
