Walk For Strides

Hello! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was great! I kicked it off with a birthday party for a friend on Friday night and ended it with a relaxing Sunday evening at home. My daughter had a huge science project due today so while I relaxed she worked on her project.  Since October 8th this is the third "project" that she has had to complete (poor kid).  Lucky for me she enjoys projects.

 
I did start my Sunday morning EARLY!  I picked up friends at 6:30 am to be exact.  I was up bright and early to participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer .  This was the first time that I have participated in an event like this.  I have to say that it was an amazing experience.  To see that many people come together for the same cause was very moving. A BIG thanks to Audrey for including me on her team!  It was a fun morning!  I thought that I would share with you a few photos from the morning.

As I said earlier it was an amazing experience.  I saw many teams walking for someone that they love.  One family carried a giant poster listing all of the wonderful things about the person they were walking for, their mother.  A morning spent like this reminds one of what is really important.  Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life it is so easy to forget what truly matters.  If you have never participated in this type of event, get out there and do it.  You will be happy that you did!

Cards For Breakfast

The above two cards will be used at a breakfast honoring breast cancer survivors and those actively dealing with breast cancer.  On The Pink Stamper blog, Robyn posted a letter that Kathy Mortl in WI sent her. In it she asked that we all make a card and send it to her. She is hoping to receive 1500 cards.  The cards she receives will be placed at each persons seat at the breakfast.  I thought that this would be something my daughter and I could do together. These are the cards that we have sent.
