Hello! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great! I kicked it off with a birthday party for a friend on Friday night and ended it with a relaxing Sunday evening at home. My daughter had a huge science project due today so while I relaxed she worked on her project. Since October 8th this is the third "project" that she has had to complete (poor kid). Lucky for me she enjoys projects.
I did start my Sunday morning EARLY! I picked up friends at 6:30 am to be exact. I was up bright and early to participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer . This was the first time that I have participated in an event like this. I have to say that it was an amazing experience. To see that many people come together for the same cause was very moving. A BIG thanks to Audrey for including me on her team! It was a fun morning! I thought that I would share with you a few photos from the morning.
Pictured at left are Susan, Beverly, Audrey & myself. Not too bad for 6:30 am!
Teams are starting to arrive. |
Look what team this Disney Girl spotted!! Do you see all of those Mickey ears?? |
The walk has started. This is the view in front of me. |

As I said earlier it was an amazing experience. I saw many teams walking for someone that they love. One family carried a giant poster listing all of the wonderful things about the person they were walking for, their mother. A morning spent like this reminds one of what is really important. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of life it is so easy to forget what truly matters. If you have never participated in this type of event, get out there and do it. You will be happy that you did!
Thanks SO much for stopping by Disney Girl! I hope that you have a magical Monday!!

It looks like a great turn out for a great cause. I hope your team raised lots of money. I have done a lot of walks for March of Dimes and MS. I would love to do a BC walk.

Hi! I did this walk with the American Heart Society so I know how much fun it is to have so many supports from everyone, not just them who have gone through the disease but also families and friends who have relatives or sibling gone through similar situations. We also did the mob flash. it was so much fun. anyway, followed you from the blog hop. I hope you will be so kindly as to follow back. thanks so much :)
