BINGO!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends! It is challenge time over at Scrapbook Blessings Club.  This month we are playing Bingo with our challenge.  Head on over here to read all about it.  I hope that you will join in on the fun!  Our sponsor this month is A Day For Daises.

For this challenge I needed to pick a column off of the Bingo card. I went with the middle column, straight across.  Bling! Shamrocks! Buttons!

As soon as I remembered I had a Bingo embossing folder I knew that it had to be used for this challenge.

Recipe:

  • Embossing folder
  • Buttons and bling from my stash
  • Tim Holtz Kraft Core cardstock (which I distressed)
  • Shamrock stamp - unknown
  • Stickles
  • Close To My Heart Shinhan Touch Twin marker (to color my shamrocks)
  • Bakers twine
I hope that you enjoy the monthly challenge at Scrapbook Blessings Club. Be sure to play along.  I would love to see what you create.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a magical day.

Pop-Up Box Card and a Fun New Die Set!

Hello Disney and Crafty Friends!  Today I am over at Scrapbook Blessings Club with a fun post about my latest die set.  I am so excited about this die set.  I must admit, though, when I opened it I was a bit overwhelmed.  This set is made by Stamps of Life.  Luckily for me there is an awesome video that explains the set.  Here is what it looked like when I received it:

Yikes!  This is a whole lot of dies to work with!  The largest piece is what is used to create the "box" portion of the card.  All of the other dies can be used to embellish the card or "pop" out of the box! This is SUCH a FUN set.

I was on a mission to create a Wonder Woman card for my cousin.  Here is what my end result was:

Here is a picture of the box card closed (well, almost closed).  The card did fit into a larger envelope.

Recipe:
  • Cardstock from my stash. I made sure to use a heavier cardstock for the box portion of the card.  This portion has to hold up to a lot of handling.
  • Wonder Woman Stickers.  Yes, it is stickers that are popping up.  I backed them with cardstock.
  • Wonder Woman button.  This is the small element in front.
  • Journey Glaze
  • Stickles
  • Gems from my stash
  • Die set by Stamps of Life

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope that you have a magical day!!

Scrapbook Blessings Club May Card Kits Are Here!

I am so excited to share with you the Scrapbook Blessings Club May card kit!  This is such a fun kit to work with! It has endless possibilities. To see what is included in the kit head on over here.  I had a great time using the kit to make the following cards:

Recipe:
  •  All card stock is from the SBC May card kit
  • Cityscape Nightline die by Memory Box
  • Cloud embossing folder by Cuttlebug (The Skyward set)
  • Cloud stamp by DOTS (now CTMH)
  • Tuxedo Black ink by Memento Ink
  • Indigo Blue ink by Impress
  • Pink by Colorbox (included in the May kit)
  • "Flying By" stamp by Lawn Fawn (included in the May kit)
  • Stardust Stickles (included in the May kit)
  • Pop Dots
  • Journey Glaze
I lightly distressed the embossed clouds.  I applied Journey Glaze in the windows of my Cityscape and also around my large cloud.  Card measures 5x5.

I do not usually follow a sketch to make my cards.  I am not sure why...but I just never have.  That being said this time I did.  I decided to give it a try and I really enjoyed it.  Using the sketch helped the process go faster.  I did not realize how much time I spend thinking of the design of a card.  LOL  The following cards are from the same sketch.

 Recipe:

EVERYTHING (except for the Bakers Twine and Chestnut Roan ink by Colorbox) used to make this card is from the May Kit.   "Everything" is:
  • Card stock
  • Sequins
  • Ribbon
  • Embellishment
  • Pink ink by Colorbox
 This card measures 6x6.

Recipe:

  • All card stock is from the SBC May card kit
  • Chestnut Roan ink by Colorbox
  • Pink ink by Colorbox (included in the May kit)
  • Flower embellishment (included in the May Kit)
  • Stardust Stickles (included in the May kit)
  • Bling is from my stash
  • Flower punch by EK Success
  • Ribbon (included in the May kit)
This card measures 6x6.

I do have a quick tip to share with you......To give patterned paper or card stock some sparkle just add Stickles to it. I did this to the above card.

So there you have it!  I still have plenty left in my SBC May card kit to make more cards!! Be sure to check out the SBC blog here and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with their kits (All are shown on the video).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a magical day!!!

Anything Goes!

Hello Friends!  Today we kick off a new challenge over at the Scrapbook Blessings Club!  The design team has been busy creating some wonderful things to show you.  Our sponsor for this challenge is A Day For Daisies. This challenge (*#16) is "Anything Goes" from SBC January - March Challenges.    I decided to use "Funky, Fancy and Fabulous Card Folds" along with what I learned from the Valentine Pop Up Box tutorial.  I have been wanting to try the "pop up box" and finally got to.  What a FUN card this is! I had a blast creating it.

Before I show it to you....I have a tip to share and it is the one thing that I ALWAYS forget to do myself.  When you are creating a card I think it is best to pick your card stock and patterned paper first!  I did not do this when I made this card.  I had done A LOT of coloring and then I was digging around for paper to match.  My card would of went faster if I had picked the paper color first and then colored my image to match.  Next time I hope that I remember to do so. LOL

Here it is folded:

AND here it is open!

I just loved making this card!  The digi from A Day For Daisies was awesome to work with!! I used one image and just colored each one differently. So fun!

Here's the recipe:

  • Cupcake digital image from A Day For Daisies
  • Patterned paper, card stock, and daisy cutout from my stash
  • I colored the cupcakes with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol
  • I decorated the cupcakes with various Stickles and Journey Glaze
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope that you hop around and see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  Don't forget to join in on the challenge. I look forward to seeing what you have created!  Have a magical day!!

*Challenge #16 ends Saturday April 5, 10 pm EST.  Please note that this challenge is running for one week.

**Are you on Facebook?  If so be sure to join the Scrapbook Blessings Club. Our Facebook page is just another way to join in on all of the fun we are having at Scrapbook Blessings Club.**

Let's Hop!!

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's October's Blog Hop.  Collectively the design team and guest designers have made some amazing and special projects to share with you... over 60 projects are on this hop, but it is in less than 20 stops.

I am so excited to be part of the fun and would like to welcome you to Disney Girl Crafts and Other Fun Things.  I am stop number 9 along the way.   You should of hopped on over from stop 8 and that is Curls and Grins.  If for some reason you started in the middle of the hop head on over to My Cricut Craftroom  and start at the very beginning.  You definitely don't want to miss out on any of the fun.

I have a couple of cards to share with you. Up first is Goofy.

Goofy was cut using the Cricut cartridge Mickey Font.  Unfortunately I did not write down what I cut him at. (sorry!)  If I had to guess he is cut at 5 inches. An embossing folder was used to make the background. I also used Journey Glaze and Stickles on the background. The paper and twine were from my stash.  I made several of these at one time.  I find that when I cut out Disney images it is best to make a few at one time.  Once I start layering and putting it together it is super easy to make multiples of the same one.  For me the work is figuring out what layer and color go where.

Next up is a little Halloween fun.

These two trick or treaters were cut at 3 inches using the Cricut cartridge Trick or Treat.  A lot of glitter went into making these costumes sparkle.  The pumpkin bag was cut at 1 1/2 inches.  A Martha Stewart punch was used to make the fence in the background.  The bat stickers are from K and Company as is the "No Tricks...Just Treats" sticker.  The paper, glitter and twine are from my stash.  I also used Liquid Pearls (white opal) on her hair and Enamel Accents on the shoes (white) and eyes (black).

If you would like to see any of my other Cricut projects be sure to check out the links on my sidebar.  I am also giving away some blog candy!  All you have to do is leave a comment with a way for me to contact you and follow my blog either through GFC or Bloglovin. Your comment and follow must be received by midnight Sunday night to be eligible to win the blog candy.  I will be drawing one winner on Monday October 7, 2013.  What is the blog candy you ask?  It is a surprise!  I will announce the winner and the "candy" on Monday!

It's time for you to hop on over to stop number 10.......Lourdes - Creative Crafts Niche
