Holiday Happenings!

Hello! This past week has been full of SO much fun!  I love this time of year!  There is baking, parties and an excuse to go shopping.  I started my week out making delicious dipped pretzels.  For those of you that have not tried this before WHAT are you waiting for?  It is super easy to do.  Here is all that you need:

This is what you do:  Melt the Almond Bark, dip the pretzel, sprinkle it with your colorful sugar sprinkles and set it on parchment paper until the candy coating hardens. See?  Super easy!

Here are my dipped pretzels waiting for the candy coating to harden.

And.......this is what I did with them.  I used them on the table as part of the decoration.  (Thank you to my fellow Disney Chick, Candy, for the fabulous idea).  They looked wonderful on the table and everyone enjoyed eating them.

I also made these cute little party favors this week:

To learn how to make these adorable favors please visit Splitcoast Stampers and check out the great tutorial by Lisa Somerville.  Lisa's are decorated for Halloween but made the same way as mine shown above.

The last thing I will share today is the card that I gave to a friend this week.

I wish I could take all the credit for this gorgeous card but I cannot.  I made this in a class taught by the super talented Susan B.

Well that is all that I have for today.  Stay tuned for more holiday happenings here at Disney Girl Crafts & Other Fun Things.  Have a magical day!

Getting Crafty With Pretzels

Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend!  I thought that I would share with you a cute little lion that my daughter made at YMCA camp.  She colored the face and then glued pretzel sticks around it.  Didn't it turn out super cute?  Super easy too.  I am not sure where the coloring sheet of the lion's face came from but I am sure you could find one online.  With the colder months coming up this would be a great indoor project for the kids.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope this evening finds everyone doing something that they enjoy!!  This post is linked up over at Dawns Disaster Super Sunday Sync blog hop.  Head on over there, link up & join the party!

Wordless Wednesday & I'm Back!

Mickey in his Hawaiian wear!

Hello Everyone!  My blog has been SO quiet this past week and a half.  Has any one wondered where I have been?  Well, I have been SUPER busy trying to finish up an album that I have been working on for the last few months.  The album is finished and the recipient is my fellow Disney Chick (pictured at left).  The album was a gift for her birthday and it was full of photos & memories of our friendship.  It was so hard to be working on a album for someone that I talk to (ok, text) several times a week and see often.  I am SO glad the secret is out and she now has the album.

I am a bit late posting for Wordless Wednesday (as today is Saturday) but I HAD to post as we all know that it is my favorite time of the week.  This weeks theme is:

Disney Attire/Costuming!

This weeks theme instantly made me think of how from the first trip the "Disney Chicks" ever took together the clothing was a big part of it.  Prior to any trip, the "Chicks" go over the color/shirt list so that we all match (for you scrapbookers out there the pictures are better if you all match).   On our trips we all wear matching shirts (or at the very least the same color) every day except one.  I call this day the "free day".

Not a "free" day.

I am including this next photo because I love how Mary Poppins and Bert are dressed!  If I had to pick a Disney character whose outfit I love the most it would be the two of them!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend.  A big thanks to Deb over at Focused On The Magic for hosting Wordless Wednesday!! Thanks so much for stopping by & have a magical day!

Board Game Homework

Happy Saturday everyone!!  I wanted to share with you a homework assignment that my daughter did this week.  She had to make a board game.  It was group project (three children per group). I thought that it was a very fun project and a clever way to teach children vocabulary words.  She really enjoyed the assignment.

The game is already to be played!
A closer look at the game pieces.

Isn't this a great idea?  Not only did she use her imagination (with the help of her group) designing the game, she got to do an art project and learn vocabulary words!  The project also required that written directions on how to play the game be made.  My daughter and I had a lot of fun testing out how well her group's game played. I hope they receive an A on it.  They deserve it!

I hope that you all have a fantastic rest of your weekend!  I am off to see a Disney On Ice show tomorrow.  I cannot wait!  For starters, we all know that I love Disney.  What you may not know is that I love an ice show!!  I spent the first thirteen years of my life living in upstate New York. Going ice skating & attending hockey games were the thing to do.  Just the "smell" of the ice transports me back in time to being a kid in upstate New York.  Good memories!!!!  Thanks for stopping by Disney Girl!

Reminder

Just a reminder that it is not too late to link up to the Super Sunday Sync Blog Hop.  We have two hours left to help Dawn reach her goal of 70!  I would LOVE to see her reach her goal.  She is only six away from hitting it.

Is anyone out there Amazing Race fans???  I usually do not blog about television but I have to say I am loving this season of the Amazing Race (and it is only week two)!  It usually takes me several weeks, if not half of the season, to get caught up in the Race.  At the beginning there are so many teams that I usually like it better once half of them have been eliminated.  NOT the case this season.  I am enjoying all of the teams with the exception of one.  LOL  So far they have yet to be eliminated. It is going to be one terrific season!

That's all that I have for tonight.  Thanks for stopping by & have a Disney kind of day tomorrow!
