Happy Mother's Day!

Hello everyone and Happy Mother's Day! I hope today finds you doing something that you love.  I would like to pay tribute to the amazing women in my life.
My sweet girl & I

My mom & I
First up is my mother.  Without her I definitely would not be who I am today.  Growing up all I heard was how much I was like my dad.  As an adult I think I am a good combination of both of them. My mom is literally the "back-up" to every aspect of my life.  Without her help I would not be able to do the things that I do.  We not only job-share but on the days I work she (with my step dad's help) provides transportation and dinner for my daughter. I could go on and on about all she helps with and the wonderful example she has been throughout my life but I figure you get the picture.  On a fun note I also learned my love of shopping (especially for a bargain) from her.  Retail therapy is good for the soul! I also got my love for all holidays (especially Christmas) from my mother. She decorates for all holidays.  Growing up it was all about traditions and I love this!  That is one thing that I hope my own daughter will take from me.  Traditions are so important.  They connect each generation to the ones before.  Hands down, I have the best mom ever!!!

Next up is my mother-in-law.  I am so blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law.  From day one she and my father-in-law welcomed me into their family.  She has to be the most positive person that I know (yet, always realistic). My mother-in-law is a retired school teacher, a cancer survivor, a volunteer firefighter and many other things.  There is not an animal she would not rescue nor a person she would not help.  She is one amazing lady!

I have to mention my "Auntie".  She is by far the best keeper of all secrets and always there when I need her.  When something exciting is happening in my life I call her. When something upsetting or sad happens I also call her.  Somehow she works her Auntie magic and makes me feel better!  She is so much more than an Aunt.  She is a second mom and best friend all rolled into one. (There is no photo of her as I would be in HUGE trouble if I posted one of her.  LOL Really, I am serious people.)

Four generations!

Last and definitely not least is my "Gram".  That would be my wonderful 90 year old Grandmother.  I have been so blessed to have her in my life.  I have learned SO much from her.  She is one strong, independent lady.  When I lost my dad, very unexpectedly, it was really my Gram who got me through it.  Her unwavering faith and strength was what helped me carry on.(Please, no one tell her that there is a picture of her on the internet. I will be in BIG trouble.)

So there you have it.  This post would not be complete without a shout out to all of my girlfriends (You all know who you are.).  Thank you so much for your advice and listening ear when it comes to parenting and daily life.  I wish all of you a fabulous Mother's Day!
