Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone!  I'm back & ready to blog about all of my favorite things!  The month of December really got away from me.  Family, friends & cookies took up my month and I would not of had it any other way!!

For starters I owe Dawn over at Dawn's Disaster an apology for not following through with the Christmas Tag she tagged me with.  I know it is after Christmas but I thought that I would answer the questions that she posted. Here we go.....

1~What tradition does your family partake in that is unique to your family?  We bake cookies.  Why, you ask is that so unique? It is unique because we use my Grandma's old wooden cutting board and her cookie cutters (and her special recipe that calls for nutmeg!). My Grandma (my dad's mom) passed away mid 1970.  When she passed, the board & cutters were given to my mom.  As soon as I was old enough to roll dough I was the one using the cutters & board.  When I moved out on my own the board, cutters & all the memories they hold came along with me.  I now have a daughter who is rolling that dough along side my mom & I. We also have my Aunt on hand for "oven duty".  We don't want any burnt cookies.

2~What is your favorite Christmas dessert/treat?  COOKIES!!

3~Do you enjoy egg nog?  Spiked or regular? Never egg nog for me, just a Diet Coke, light ice please.

4~What is your favorite Christmas song? I love all Christmas carols.  Really, all of them!  I cannot pick a favorite.

5~Is there usually snow on the ground by your house for Christmas?  No, I live in the desert.  It is VERY rare to have snow here.

Once again, my apologies to Dawn!  Head on over to Dawn's Disaster and leave her a New Year's hello.

If you are wondering how I will be spending my free time these next few days I will be packing up my tree and all the ornaments. Away they go until next year.  It makes me sad to think that my favorite time of year is over.  Or am I just feeling sad because I have so much work ahead of me in taking down the tree?  LOL  Maybe it is a little of both.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a very magical, Disney kind of day!!

  1. Your tree is beautiful! We had hardly any ornaments on ours this year, since Tyler was at the age where it's fun to throw ornaments on the floor and I was sick of sweeping up broken ones. :)
