Look What I Got!!

I am beyond excited to share that I received the Liebster Award from Rena over at Revamp Spunky Rena.  A HUGE thanks to Rena for passing this on to me!  I appreciate it!

The Liebster Award comes with a few rules.  Here they are:

  • Each person (recipient) must post 11 things about themselves.
  • Answer the 11 questions the person giving the award has set for you.
  • Create 11 questions for the people you will be giving the award to.
  • Choose 11 people to award and send them a link to post.  Go to their page & tell them.
  • No tag backs.
Here are 11 things about me, the Disney Girl:

I spend the majority of my lunch hours at Target. Many times I don't even shop I just sit at the snack bar, relax, & eat the lunch I brought from home.  Yes, that is correct I bring my homemade lunch into Target & eat it there.  The staff knows me.

I am not musical at all.  I cannot carry a tune and wish that I could.  When I sing along with a song I never have the words right.  My husband corrects me every time.  My daughter begs me to stop singing every time.

I do not have a bucket list.  I think it is strange to have one.  I am not sure why, but the thought of a making a "bucket list" has never even occurred to me.  I guess I live every day to the fullest and as if it is the last.

As much as I love my computer and my I-Phone, I cannot stand having my calendar on either one.  I tried it for 6 months and it just doesn't work for me.  I like my old fashioned paper "planner".

As much as I love ALL things Disney I have never been to Walt Disney World.

When I was younger I drove a restored 1965 Mustang. I learned to drive stick shift on that car.  I loved that car and hated to sell it.  At the time I needed something that was dependable for road trips.

Years ago, before I was married, I worked two jobs for four months to save money to go to Europe.  I went to Europe alone, joined up with a tour group and had the time of my life! I also made a life-long friend!  (Christine if you are reading this you know that the friend is YOU!)

That second job I worked was at a toy store.  It was a Christmas season that I will never forget.  It was the year Teddy Ruxpin was popular.  Remember him?  The talking bear!  I still have nightmares about that bear talking!

Teddy Ruxpin

Once upon a time I worked at Olon Mills Portrait Studio.  Yes, I was that girl who interrupted your dinner to sell you a portrait package.

I iron all of my clothes.  Even my t-shirts.  I love the crisp look of ironed clothing. (No, I do not iron the undergarments)

When I was 18 years old I was engaged & moving to Iowa.  My dad asked what in the world were we going to live on, love?  I answered "Yes! Love!"  Who was that girl?  That could not have possibly been me.  But, oh, it was!  Lucky for me the groom called off the wedding four weeks before we were to say "I do".  I was heartbroken but my dad was a happy man! (And years later I finally met my Prince Charming!)

Now on to the eleven questions that Rena asked me.

Here are the questions that she asked:

What is your favorite song of all time and why?  Oh! Tough question for me. I do not have a favorite song.  When I hear certain songs I love the memories that they bring back.  I guess I love the memories more than the songs and many songs bring back great memories.  One song that particularly comes to mind is Surfin USA by the Beach Boys (always played on the road trips to Disneyland & Huntington Beach when I was a teenager).

What is your Love/Hate relationship?  I love desserts but hate the calories that they contain.  How could something so good be so bad?

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?  Married, raising a 16 year old (YIKES!) and traveling more!

Do you like to read?  If you do, what kind of reading genre do you like to read?  I love to read and wish that I had more time to do so.  I love to read biographies and romance novels.

When was the last time you laugh really hard?  Last Friday when I was with my scrapping buddies.

What is your favorite dance style and why? I am not a dancer at all. But.... if I have to pick a style I love all the dances from the 50's.  Why?? I am not sure, I just do.

What is your weakness? Cookies!

Finish this sentence; I LOVE.....my family & friends!

What would you buy with 1000 dollars?  Easy answer.......a trip to Disneyland with my brother & his family.

Do you prefer shopping online or go to the store?  I prefer going to the store or MANY stores for that matter!  I am a shopper.

Who is your hero?  My parents!

Now here are my eleven questions to the eleven Bloggers that I have passed this award onto:

  1. What is your favorite holiday?
  2. Why do you blog?
  3. What is one thing you would like someone to know about you?
  4. If you could vacation anywhere in the world where would you go?

  6. Is there any one thing in your life that you would like to do over?
  7. What accomplishment are you the most proud of?
  8. How would you spend a rainy day?
  9. What is your favorite television show of ALL time?

  3. Hi! I'm a new follower from the Sunday Sync - looking forward to reading your blog! I am so with you on the paper planner. I need to see my week all laid out and color coded. Plus physically writing things down helps me to remember what I need to be doing in case I forget to look at my calendar, lol
